Facebook is getting stronger and stronger every day, keeping its speed of growth and generating thousands of new user registrations every day. Let’s take a look at the latest global Facebook numbers in comparison with the beginning of year 2011.

Facebook has grown dramatically in the first quarter of 2011. Number of total users has grown from 585 million users to more than 665 million users! That means over 80 million new user registrations just in the first 3 months of the year. If Facebook keeps its speed, it will be crossing the 700 million users barrier pretty shortly and we can only guess what the final number will be by the end of this year.

Nearly 30 % of the new account registrations have been made by users in the age group of 1824 years of age. This age group constantly remains the strongest one on Facebook and at this moment represents over 210 million Facebook users overall.

Second biggest gain has been spotted in the age group of 2534 years of age with almost 20 million new account registrations. This age group is the second strongest on Facebook with total of 174 million Facebook accounts.

Not surprisingly, the third biggest gain of Facebook users in the first quarter of 2011 has been in the age group of 3544 years of age, almost 11 million new registrations and 90 million Facebook accounts in total.

More than 72 % of all Facebook users belong to one of the three above mentioned categories which means more than 475 million users are in the age between 18 and 44 years of age.

Facebook keeps being very strong, reaching to new countries and attracting thousands of new users every day. We will keep an eye on the growth and are already looking forward to numbers from the second quarter of this year!
