Award winning design for Nashville newspaper
National “Best of” award for 2nd year in a row
NASHVILLE – Nashville’s own West End Report received national recognition for excellence for many years. The publication was named as the best local church or district newspaper by the United Methodist Association for Communication several times. John Feldhacker and Julie Halstead oversaw each newspaper issue. Don Marler, Fern Richie and Sean Williams were frequent contributors.
Popular features of The West End Report included A View from Julie’s Desk, Solid Rock Events and Window into Worship. Each biweekly installment usually included an article from a member of the church youth group, as well as photos of activities and events.
Horton Group designed the Nashville publication for a decade. Horton Group’s graphic design staffers, led a wide range of design and communication efforts for the West End United Methodist Church for several years. Bettina Nicholson said, “I took great pleasure in arranging photos from the West End United Methodist Church to convey a moment in time where everyone was gathered as a community.” Congratulations to West End Untied Methodist Church and congratulations Bettina for several award winning design and communications efforts
